Award guidance

Reviewer code

Reviewers must work independently, within their expertise and with respect for the information entrusted to them.

Before accepting an assignment

Confirm relevant product, evidence, human-factors or information expertise and its limits. Declare employment, consultancy, funding, investment, personal or competitive relationships, including relevant work on another IAHPM award. Wait for clearance before opening private evidence.

During assessment

  • Review the submitted application and accepted supplementary material.
  • Record a rating, evidence reference and reason for each criterion.
  • Distinguish missing evidence from adverse evidence.
  • State limitations and material concerns explicitly.
  • Submit independently before viewing other reviewers’ findings.
  • Ask the chair for additional expertise when a question is outside your competence.

Do not negotiate ratings with applicants or promise an outcome.

Confidential information

Use the dossier only for the assigned work. Do not reuse files for commercial research, share access or upload confidential material to external generative tools. Keep questions within the account channel and report accidental disclosure promptly.

Commercial independence

Remuneration cannot depend on awards or orders. Commission, gifts, sales-linked pay and paid advice to the applicant connected with the assigned entry are prohibited. Appointment does not authorise selling an awards service.

Explain and report

Conclusions must relate to the product and evidence. Do not infer clinical effectiveness, safety or market permission beyond that support. Update a relationship declaration if circumstances change and report pressure or a potential conflict.
