How selection works
From an online application to a reasoned decision and a verifiable public record.

1. Submission and eligibility
Submitting locks the application and generates a receipt. Intake checks authority, product identity, category, context and file safety. Receipt is separate from acceptance into assessment.
2. Expertise and independence
Three reviewers are matched to the product and required professional roles. Each declares relevant relationships before access. A separate chair is appointed, and anyone with a material conflict is replaced.
3. Independent assessment
Reviewers examine the same accepted dossier and submit their own ratings, references, concerns and recommendation. Their draft assessments are not shared with one another.
4. Questions and clarification
An information request explains what is missing or unclear and why it matters. A remote demonstration may clarify a workflow. Responses become part of the recorded dossier; no product shipment is needed.
5. Moderation and decision
The chair reviews the evidence, differences and final criterion-level reasons. Material concerns must be resolved. A fourth opinion is obtained when further specialist judgement is needed. The applicant receives a signed decision and feedback.
6. Public details and publication
For an award, the applicant checks product identity and public facts. The signed decision and citation remain under programme control. The award record, ID and electronic certificate are released together after publication checks.
7. Keeping the record accurate
Product changes, corrections and concerns are handled through documented cases. The public record shows current status and relevant history. An appeal is free and is considered independently.
