Health Choice Awards
About the awards
Health Choice Awards recognises health products that serve people well in everyday use.

What makes a product a good choice?
People need products that suit their needs, perform as described and fit into daily life. A useful feature can lose its value if instructions are hard to follow, results are unclear or routine use demands too much effort. HCA considers these aspects together when recognising a product.
What we recognise
The award is for a finished health product and a specific use supported by evidence. It may concern a nutritional product, a wearable, a home monitor, software or an aid to daily living. The review identifies who the product is intended for, what it helps them do and the conditions in which it is used.
The meaning of Choice
Choice means suitability and informed use. The assessment asks whether a product addresses a clear need and whether people can understand and use it as intended. Recognition is based on the published standard rather than a public vote or sales ranking.
An online assessment
Applicants submit product information, evidence and current instructions. Reviewers examine the material and may ask questions or request a remote demonstration. No product shipment is required. This is a review of submitted evidence, not laboratory or clinical testing carried out by HCA.
Presented by IAHPM
The International Association of Health Product Manufacturers administers the programme, sets the award rules and maintains the official records. The standard, independence policy and appeal process explain how award decisions are made and reviewed.
A focused IAHPM award
HCA places particular emphasis on the relationship between a product, its users and a practical task. Compare IAHPM’s award programmes to see how that focus differs from Global Health Product Awards.
