Identify the type of change
| Change | Material to provide |
|---|---|
| Factual correction | Existing detail, corrected detail and supporting source |
| Formulation, sensor, algorithm or material | Old and new specifications and the effect on claims and evidence |
| Interface, instructions or warnings | Changed documents and the effect on user tasks or understanding |
| Intended users or use | Proposed difference and evidence supporting it |
| Additional model | A comparison with the assessed model and relevant findings |
| Discontinuation or market withdrawal | Affected models, markets and product-availability information |
Prepare the comparison
Give the Award ID, actual change date, affected models and markets, old and new details, and the evidence relevant to the difference. Identify the correction requested for the public record.
Report before extending award use
Do not apply the mark to an altered product or additional model while the scope is unconfirmed. A common brand or enclosure does not establish equivalence. The team considers whether the original award remains supported, a correction is sufficient or further review is needed.
Record and status
Material findings can lead to further questions, review, suspension or withdrawal with reasons and a route to respond. Significant public changes appear in the record history. Discontinuation alone is not a finding that an award was improperly made.
